Must-have shoes of the season…
[dropcap]It’s[/dropcap] a good week when it starts with pretty shoes. I have officially finished working at Emirates Woman magazine, though I’m doing a few of days freelance to help on a couple of shoots before flying off to London and Moscow for the rest of the month. We are adjusting to our new home and there is still so much to do including bringing over our final boxes and furniture from the UK so once that is all done I’ll be able to give you a tour : )
Logomania spread through the Dior SS17 9collection and nothing stood out more than the J’ADIOR Slingbacks. The instantly became the ‘shoe of the season’ and I was beyond surprised that Kip managed to find the exact ones that I wanted for my birthday as they have been selling out at the same speed as their famous We Should All Be Feminists T-shirts. The patent leather and the logo stamped strap add a modern edge to the classic point toe shape and while the kitten heel style has been the most popular, I loved the flats in a neutral shade as they go with absolutely everything. I’ve heard that the heeled versions are slightly more comfortable as the strap sits better on the back of the foot and also that patent version like mine can be tough on the toes at first, but after a couple of blisters (worth the pain) they’re now absolutely fine.
I have worn them with tailored trousers, dresses and skirts but there is something undeniably cool with wearing these lady-like shoes with distressed denim and a silk loose blouse. I chose the Chanel bag to compliment the shade of the shoes and kept the rest of the accessories simple (minimal jewellery is my go to).
