Kicking off New York Fashion Week with a maxi…
Hey from the big apple everyone! After a hell of a long flight from Dubai we finally arrived at the New York Edition (psst Victoria Beckham is staying here!) It’s based in midtown overlooking Madison Square Park and has a very modern trendy feel with rooms offering good space (though storage leaves something to be desired) and attentive friendly service. Its a great spot for the main two venues of NYFW and is easy to get around from – plus there is a Shake Shack in the park and a Whole Food a 5 minute walk away so I’m happy!
I started my day with a few shows at the main venue on 9th avenue 33rd street and then made my way to Grand Central station for the Club Monaco presentation. The setting was beautiful, felt like we were in a cute french town as they had stalls giving out roses, coffee and fresh baked bread. Afterwards I headed to Milly and the collection was right up my street, bright with beautiful open back pieces and light fabrics. There I finally met two NYC bloggers that Ive been instagramming with for ages, Christie from Christie Ferrari and Holly form Petite Flower Presents.
But the highlight of my day was still to come in a shape of Tommy Hilfiger pier extravaganza. Set on the pier over the Hudson River, there were food stalls, giant pretzels, ice lolly carts, funfair rides and games all decorated with vintage fairy lights and an incredible view over the city. Anyone who is anyone was there including Olivia Palermo and even Taylor Swift! The show was bold and beautiful with the best models in the business strutting down in the new season collection including the Gigi collaboration which in stores now (she looked amazing!) There I finally got to meet Pam The Girl from Panama who is another blogger I have been admiring for a long time.
To battle the muggy NYC weather I opted for a floaty maxi dress from Sportmax and decided to keep it comfy with my fave Gucci sneakers. What do you think? Make sure to keep following my Insta Stories and Snapchat for all the latest!
