While the weather is still making its mind up, I decided to put together a roundup of top 10 transitional jackets which will see you through the rain and into (hopefully) a sunny summer…
You know how it is, one minute you’re soaking up the sun rays and the next you’re attacked by a torrential downpour! For me, transitional jackets are essential and the ultimate piece everyone should own is a leather biker, but this season I’d swap the trusty black one for a more colourful option from either River Island, Jigsaw or Karen Millen.
A few weeks back I did a post on this bomber jacket which is a perfect alternative to leather and most recently I have been loving this lilac one from H&M as well as this beauty from Sacai that would be perfect for a night out.
A trench is a no brainer when it comes to defending yourself against the elements and I am just in love with the All Saints coat! But lets not forget the good old rain mac which might seem reserved only for campers or festival goers, but throw this neon plastic mac over a denim skirt or even a maxi dress and it will give your look an instant cool factor.
Military is one of the big trends this season and you can opt for a classic khaki utility jacket or break the mould and try this pink cutie from Next.
Denim’s ongoing popularity has hit new heights this summer and no wardrobe would be completewithout a great denim jacket like this one from Free People.
So far I’ve been focusing on more shorter styles but I love long floaty pieces and this sleeveless jacket from Zara is one of my favourites (similar from Monki). I have also been on a hunt for a perfect duster coat after seeing this gorgeous Stella McCartney one and the Topshop version is pretty close, what do you think?
Blazers are a great fashion staple and add a bit of Parisian chic to any look and for the summer I’d opt for neutral shades like the white Mango jacket above (sold out but similar style from Warehouse) and wear with colourful trousers or shorts and a high neck blouse.
This fringe jacket that I wore to LFW is just amazing and thanks to Burberry this trend will still be hugely popular next seasons so check out Mango and Urban Renewal for the best options available now.
What is your perfect transitional piece for this season?
So many gorgeous jackets. In LOVE with that first one way too much and the fringe jacket is everything. We’re major fans of motto jackets for transition pieces too!

I know what you mean about the weather. All week it has been in the 70s and 80s by me but I’m afraid to get too comfortable since this is Spring and the weather always goes back and forth for awhile. I really like the Zara jacket and the Celine one by the way.
