Leather pieces I’ll never get tired of wearing

For a long time I have been resistant to leather…

At the time, it seemed to have an edgy punk/goth association which I couldn’t work into my daily wardrobe, but when I finally got my first pair of black leather trousers, everything changed.

Since then, I’ve been a leather obsessive. Turns out, it’s one of the chicest and timeless materials you can invest it. Just think, is there anyone you know who doesn’t own a biker jacket?

Over the years, leather has been worked into elegant dresses, relaxed trousers and tailored jackets. Whether you choose the real thing or go faux, you’ll become addicted to it’s transformative power to make any outfit feel instantly elevated.

I’ve loved seeing vegan leather make it’s mark and according to search engine Lyst, searches for vegan leather is up by 69 per cent year on year.

I have been obsessed with Nanushka and it’s versatile range of vegan leather pieces, from wrap midi dresses to puffer coats, and it’s elongated leather blazer has been a gamechanger in my wardrobe. This single piece can dress up my jeans during the day and sexy up my outfit for the evening.

I have also snapped up a pair of cream loose leather trousers from the Budapest-based contemporary label that acts as perfect partners to a chunky knit jumper or a maxi coat.

This season the high street is full of leather pieces you’d want to keep forever, including the relaxed fit faux leather trousers from Mango that are firmly on my wish list. As for vegan leather, Stella McCartney has always been a solid alternative for animal-based products while Free People also offers plenty of options of the conscious shopper.

Below, I have picked out some of my recent favourites to add to your leather squad.
