H&M jacket, Topshop T-shirt and skirt and Chloe bag. By Victoria Adamson.
“I remember T-shirt weather, I remember some days, We were singing our lungs out in the backseat together…” Love this song by Circa Waves! It’s a perfect summer tune and has inspired this weeks trends post which I hope will inspire you to new ways of wearing a simple tee.
I never used to wear them much thinking they’re a bit tom boyish and didn’t do much for my narrow frame but actually they can be a very versatile fashion statement. From logos to embellishment to plain and patterned they can help you simplify or enhance any outfit. I’m a fan of wearing them underneath strappy dresses, especially if the dress is low cut, or tucked into a pencil skirt (although this summer opt for a cropped style showing top of the midriff). Of course a T-shirt + jeans, or dungarees or a mini skirts are matches made in heaven, but add a pair of killer heels and you have a great evening outfit.
A stripe T-shirt is my go to if I want to jazz up a simple pallete or if I’m feeling a bit more daring, I clash it with other prints like floral or animal. On the other end of the scale, nothing else screams Parisian chic like a basic white or grey tee with some tailored trousers and blazer. Brands wise, I head to TOPSHOP for plain options, Markus Lupfer for sequins and Bella Freud for logos.
Any other brands I should get on my radar? Let me know in the comment box below! x
