Eye of the beholder
Something that I’ve noticed over the past few seasons is leading fashion brands entering or expanding their fine jewellery and watches category. This time last year I was in Paris looking directly at a 549-carat diamond uncovered by Louis Vuitton and then a few weeks later I was at a presentation of Gucci’s latest watches.
The fine jewellery and watches sector is an important one as high-networth shoppers are looking to longevity, rarity and one-of-a-kind items. It’s a wise step, especially in the Middle East where savvy Arab shoppers can easily snap up some of the most exceptional gems in the world.

It’s no surprise then that the Lebanese couture house Elie Saab has decided to enter this dazzling realm. The brand has collaborated with Blackbox Global Luxury Group on a range of 28 ladies’ watches which will be available for SS21 season.
Dramatic texture, glamour and embellishment are just some of the qualities associated with Elie Saab and these elements are celebrated through these eye-shaped studded watches.
Not only will this satisfy the fine tastes of the loyal clients but it will open the brand up to new audiences. Hopefully, I’ll get to see these pieces up close at some point.
