Invest and love forever
With the resale market booming and more of us investing in vintage pieces or making use of rental sites, it has made me appreciate certain investments I have made and regret some of the others.
The hunger for just-in pieces isn’t diminishing (who doesn’t like looking forward to a new season) but there is less urgency or need for constant purchases. After all, we aren’t planning to travel or even going down to the local pub any time soon!
This shift in spending habits has inspired me to take a hard look at my wardrobe and analyse the pieces that I keep coming back to like a structured blazer, a timeless leather biker, classic shoes and a timless handbag. If I pick just one of these, the rest of the outfit comes together, however, some pieces always leave me stumped like a shirt with a loud print or Bermuda shorts (absolute disaster on my petite frame).
“Quiet luxury” is nothing new, but this approach to dressing became particularly prominent in 2020. Think classic and elevated pieces that stand the test of time. Case and point, the entire edit below showcases items in my wardrobe that are 5-10 years old yet feel as relevant today as they did then. My approach to 2021? Shop less but invest in forever gems.
