5 of my essentials every new mum should have…
[dropcap]Prior[/dropcap] to Lola’s arrival I met with fellow mummies and asked them for the list of essentials that I need for the first few months of her life. I never fully realised the mind field of baby products and like many parents we did end up buying a couple of things we don’t need or won’t use, but there some items that we absolutely love using.
Joolz Pram and Car Seat
After much debate we decided on a Joolz Day 2. Not only do we love the slick design but it’s incredibly easy to manoeuvre, simple to fold down and will last her a long time. The car seat is ideal for short trips and with a base, it easily clips into the car.
Changing Table and Bath
I didn’t want to get one of these but this makes changing and bathing so easy while keeping all your essentials stored in one place. It doesn’t take up too much room, and again it will last a while.
Baby Secrets by Barbara Want and Jo Tantum
There are countless books and online forums which can be extremely overwhelming to filter through. Luckily a close friend had sworn by this book which has everything you need to know up to the age of six months. I don’t follow all of the ‘secrets’ but I have found it helpful, especially the soothing and feeding tips.
Lola loves snoozing in her Sleepyhead. It’s easy to take room to room for naps and will hopefully help her adjust to her nursery when we eventually move her from our room.
Tommee Tippee Newborn Starter Set
As Lola needed extra top up pretty much from birth, we had to get bottles that she’d take to quickly and Tommee Tippee are specifically designed to mimic how a baby would feed from the boob. These particular ones are also great for preventing colic.
