How fashionistas do the desert…
One thing that Dubai does well is events and this one was definitely unique. Set amongst the dunes of a red desert and just an hour from Dubai was a magical setting of Arabian rugs, cosy seating and pit fires. This was all for the presentation of a local brand Bedouin who invited a select few fashionista’s for an intimate evening under the stars and presentation of the latest collection.
A 4×4 convoy took us into the sand pit and after a few minutes of dune bashing and picture taking we arrived at our dinner location. The setting was just fantastic and with the soundtrack playing a mixture of David Bowie and The XX, we sipped on cocktails while the models showed Andrea’s –the designers – creations. This was followed with an indulgent candlelit dinner after which we enjoyed some cupcakes and shisha before heading back to Dubai.
The dress code was desert chic so I wanted to go for loose fitting fabrics in light tones and opted for these Madiyah Al Sharqi trousers with a white tunic and a long blazer. Manolo’s were not the best idea for the desert as I ended carrying them all evening, so next time I’ll be opt for sneakers or boots. Fancy having dinner in the desert? Have a lovely weekend! x
