My 2016 was a year of change, new challenges and new experiences. It’s also been a time of more floaty romantic pieces, balloon sleeves, plenty of off-shoulder action and slight obsession with botanical green (hence the background in the first pic!) I’m so excited to see what 2017 has in store, but for now here is a brief roundup of my highlights from the last 12 months. Thank you for supporting me, every comment I read puts a smile on my face and I can’t wait to share more adventures with you!
Mashallah Dubai!
Lets start by addressing the elephant (or shall we say the camel?) in the room – DUBAI! Without doubt our big move to the UAE after 10 years in London has been the main highlight. I never actually thought it would happen, but Kip was determined, I was resistant, so here we are and to be honest I’m so happy we braved it. If you want to know what I’ve learnt so far from living in the desert, check out this post. Of course part of my heart will always belong to London and I’m grateful to it for some of the best memories. That incredible city shaped me into a person I am today, I’ve met my best friends there and I can’t wait to pop back for a visit.
Give Me Five
I don’t normally discuss my personal life or shared many pictures from our wedding, but 2016 marked 5 happy years of marriage to an unbelievably handsome, supportive, inspiring, hard-working man of my dreams. He will hate reading this, but I am so happy to have known him since we were 13 and to have shared all these incredible adventures together.
Walkway like a Runway
Fashion week in September has been another major highlight. To do New York and London is tough but I loved meeting some of the US based bloggers that I’ve been following for ages! Attending Bloglovin awards was a big deal as I’ve never been in the room with so many inspiring entrepreneurs such as Chriselle Lim and Jenny from Margo And Me. It gave me a look at where blogging can lead and the career you can have just form being determined, focused and yourself. You can still read up on my NYFW and LFW roundups.
And finally…
I’m meeting 2017 with a sense of excitement and a determination to make it an awesome year! I don’t tend to make resolutions but I am setting goals and this is what I’m aiming for:
- To travel to 2 new places
- Learn some Arabic
- Get back into playing the piano
- Start a new phase for my blog
Happy New Year everyone, I wish you all the very best! xx
