From New York snow to London rain fall…

I’m probably biased in saying this, but London Fashion Week is my favourite (and yes 10 years of living in that amazing city definitely influenced my judgement!) Although it’s shortest on the fashion month calendar, I think it’s one of the strongest trend setters for the coming season and also bring’s together the most interesting bunch of designers and fashionista’s. My first ever LFW experience was in September 2014 and I was nervous as hell. The setting of Somerset House was just stunning and although I didn’t get that many shows or presentation, I loved the buzz of the city and seeing all the street style stars trying to navigate the cobbled pavements. The new venue at Brewer Street Car Park isn’t the best as it’s too narrow and gets easily overcrowded, however I can see why Soho would be considered a cooler location.

Despite my love for LFW, I find it to be one of the most frustrating ones as the venues in London are small so chances of getting a ticket are slim. When it comes to dressing for London in February I have two words to remember – wind and rain. Both unpleasant and both require a tough attire so boots are a must. I’m done with the days of stilettos so tend to go for leather high-heel boots instead, and if you do want to sandals why not mix in some sparkly socks (yep that’s still happening). Another item that has saved me in the past is a long wrap-around dressing gown style coat. London also loves bright colours, quirky prints and out there accessories so if you’re one of those ‘more is more’ then you’ll fit right in! Oh, and don’t forget a chic umbrella.
