I don’t know about you, but my Instagram feed has been flooded with post after post of Fashion Week street style and so many feature a classic heritage print – plaid.

Some people say check, others say tartan – no matter what you call it, there’s no denying that it has proven to be a hit not only among the fashionistas but also on the runway like Versus Versace and of course Burberry with Christopher Bailey making a chav-favourite design a huge hit once again.

You can wear it head to toe as a suit or dress but make sure the cut is clean and unique (check out how Monse does it for the AW17 collection). The blazer has been the most popular choice and the longer fit of this one from Sandro is exactly what I go for.

It elongates my petite frame and I like the touches of red in the mix. There is something instantly elegant and modern about pairing plaid with jeans and to keep the look casual, make sure to add your favourite logo T-shirt to the mix.

Although sneakers would be the most obvious choice for me, I wanted to keep it classy with pointed toe pumps (another big trend for SS18) and a Louis Vuitton Capucines PM bag.
