Who doesn’t love a touch of opulence in their wardrobe? Despite the association with renaissance (or Christmas parties!) this rich fabric has been firm favourite for red carpet appearances but I love the modern way street style stars have been rocking it. From tailoring to coats, boots and bags, there’s something very regal but modern about it.
I don’t know how familiar you guys are with Attico but this Milan based label is the creation of two fashionista’s Girgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio and they make beautiful feminine pieces which have that air of vintage decadence. They work a lot with rich textures and draped fabric and this burgundy wrap dress immediately caught my eye. The versatility of wearing it open or tied up is great and I love the button detail round the wrist, though I don’t think you can see it very well here.
I chose to style it with a lace up top for bit of a gothic vibe and skinny jeans to balance out the loose fit and I really like how it looks more like a robe from the Tudor times than a dress. A pair of heels was a must and what goes better with velvet than a touch of embroidery?! These cross over Topshop sandals are extremely comfortable and have a slight pinch of Gucci to them. The Bulguri Serpenti bag made a second appearance in London after I styled it with a monochrome look in NYC and the gold accents compliment the rouge shade perfectly.
Are you going to be adding a soft touch to your wardrobe? Let me know how in the comment box below xx

Thank you Elise x
I love this look and that cost is to die for! I’ve read about Attico a while ago but haven’t yet had a chance to try any of their pieces. I really want a velvet tuxedo for winter 🙂

A velvet tuxedo sounds good! x
I see the velvet trend getting stronger and this robe of yours is the nicest yet, the colour makes it even more rich and luxe. Those topshop sandals are really pretty too. You’re looking very beautiful Diana!
