Where to sleep, eat and shop…
With NYFW upon us it’s only appropriate to share my New York City guide. The city that never sleeps and will always have something new for you to discover, these are some of my favourite hotels, restaurants and hangouts and don’t worry I kept them to three each otherwise you’d be reading this post for hours!
Mandarin Oriental– if you’re looking for a spectacular view over Central Park then this hotel is for you! Super stylish and high end, you’re guaranteed a luxurious stay. Plus there’s a pool which I’m sure is great in the summer but in winter, due to panoramic windows, it was incredibly cold!
The Bowery – A celeb favourite, you spot so many famous faces here from makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury to actor Jamie Dornan, this quirky hotel is ideal for a winter stay as well as for exploring downtown and Soho areas. Cosy up by a fireplace with a hot chocolate in the main lounge or cuddle up to the Bowery teddy bear in one of the softest beds in the city. But note, as it’s on a busy road, traffic can be noisy.
The New York Edition – Beckhams favourite over NYFW, this hotel is pure modern elegance with a touch of understated cool and has the cosiest dressing gowns. Located just across the road from Madison Square Park, it’s in a great spot to explore the whole city and is now my top choice for when I’m back in New York.
Catch – This trendy seafood eatery has amazing views from their terrace and serves really good sushi.
Gramercy Tavern – We always go here for dinner when we’re in New York as it has a great menu, good atmosphere and the most delicious cookies.
Park Avenue Spring/Summer/ Autumn/ Winter – The venue changes decor and menu with the season and is definitely worth a visit any time of year.
John’s of Times Square – This is an extra one but it’s worth a mention as I’m not a pizza fan but this place is a must! A typical NYC pizzeria, the pizza’s are literally the size of a large round table AND Leonardo DiCaprio is a fan.
The High-Line – My favourite part of New York! I love walking along it (bit challenging in winter) and exploring all pop ups and of course the views over the Hudson.
MOMA – I spent half a day at the Museum Of Modern Art while Kip was at meetings and could’ve probably stayed longer. Always nice to get a culture kick!
Chelsea Market – Such a pretty part of the city, full of great eateries and shops.
Barney’s – I spent months looking for Chanel espadrilles and on my first ever trip to New York, we went into Barney’s and there they were in several colours and in my size! The store became a firm favourite after that.
Bergdorf Goodman – I have actually never bought anything from the store but I love the opulence of when you go in and explore floor after of floor of luxury goodies.
Tiffany’s – An absolute must for anyone wanting to relive the Breakfast at Tiffany’s moment. Plus the store itself is beautiful!
