A must for anyone who is not only a fan of Chanel but also a fan of her creative spirit…

Mademoiselle Privé-Exhibition: Inside the World of Gabrielle Chanel.
I am so happy it’s the weekend as I finally feel better and I can’t wait to go to Frieze Art today! Is anyone else going? I’m no expert but ever since working on the Art Supplement of Harper’s Bazaar November issue (out now!) I’ve got a new appreciation for modern art.

Cleaver way to display the couture gowns so you can really appreciate the craftmanship.
One exhibition I would recommend for anyone to check out (fashion lover or not) is the Mademoiselle Privé at the Saathi Gallery. The Bazaar team were really lucky to go to the preview before it officially opened and I was not only amazed by the detailed look into Coco Chanels work and inspiration, but also how the whole exhibition was put together. Chanel is a classic timeless brand which is reimagined and constantly updated by the visionary Karl Lagerfeld and if you do go you must dedicate 10 minutes to a short film where Karl meets Coco (played by the amazing Geraldine Chaplin). What made this historical exhibition modern is the interactive app which tracks where you are and directs you to the most interesting facts in whatever room you’re in.
There are also workshops where you can get up close and personal with the magicians behind the stitching, embroidery and flower making in order to fully appreciate the craftsmanship that has always and forever be of the finest standard.

You are taken on a journey through the house’s creativity.
Now I am gushing over Gabriele ‘Coco’ Chanel, guilty, but she and her house represent the modern, strong and intelligent woman who is not afraid to push boundaries and go against the tide. She is bold, ambitious and relatable at any age and although I can’t afford to wear head-to-toe Chanel, the spirit of the brand is something I always have in mind. You got to admit, she’s a pretty good inspiration!
The Mademoiselle Privé exhibition will run from 10am – 6pm 7 days a week until November 1 and admission is free. Let me know what you think in the comment box below!
