You know the saying “you either love it or hate”? Well that can apply to fashion and my look for Day 2 of LFW definitely split opinion…
What I love about LFW is the eclectic street style that’s seen on the cobbled paths around Somerset House. The quirkiness of London is what inspired my look for the second day and half of it was borrowed for my very stylish and confident mama!
Lets start with the coat. When my mum first bought it I wasn’t so keen, it looks a bit like a tablecloth or, as some people pointed out today, a bit ‘grandmaish’ with a hint Mrs Doubtfire about it (one of my fave movies by the way!) But after seeing the SS15 collections from Oscar De La Renta and Altuzarra, I had to borrow this coat and if you want to risk it there is a lovely option from Erica Cavallini or a more subtle style at River Island.
I decided to go even more out of my comfort zone and clash gingham with stripes. I love this Anna K shirt dress (similar at Missguided and Creatures of the Wind or alternatively 3.1 Phillip Lim) and as stripes are huge for the summer (seen at Topshop, House of Holland and DKNY amongst others) I also included my mums bag. There’s a similar one at Matches.com but check out Vivienne Westwood or Pauls Boutique too.
I completed the print frenzy with a pair of platform loafers from Stella McCartney and there is new version available at Matches.com and similar style from Pierre Hardy.
So what do you think? I admit it is a ‘marmite’ look and not to everyones taste, but fashion is all about taking risks and having fun so I say stop worrying about what other people think and dare to stand out!
Love everything about this outfit! Especially the baby blue plaid coat! I’m in lot with it! <3

Glad you like it xx
I love that coat- you wear it so well! Also, I am dying over those shoes. Are they difficult to walk in? I always seem to fall all over myself if I wear anything that’s vaguely platform-ish. I’ve always wanted to go to London for fashion week!
Thanks so much and the shoes are so comfy, I struggled with platform sandals but these are easy to wear and give me height without hurting my feet : ) x
Love this outfit !!!

I think you made the right style choices with this coat. You took a “grandma” coat and made it look so stylish with the mix of prints and colors. Fab look! And gorgeous photos as usual.
