Favourite trends and LFW tips from Tamara…
I always have a fondness for London Fashion Week, not only because I lived in London for 10 years but also because it’s the quirkiest of all the other fashion capitals. Although it’s the shortest, it showcases some of the best designers in the world and it’s a place where a lot of the key trends begin. I was lucky to attend so many beautiful events and my favourites have to be Preen by Thornton Bregazzi (floral face decorations yes please!) and Temperley.
As for trends to invest in now? Ruffles! Thanks to Preen ruffles are going to be my next favourite style closely followed by sunshine yellow (also noted at NYFW) which was spotted at Preen, Roksanda, Erdem and J.W Anderson. Something I’m already wearing is a statement sleeve and it’s proving to be a popular style for next summer from the likes of Simone Rocha, Marques Almeida and Christopher Kane.
For this roundup I’m really excited to introduce you to another fashion blogger Tamara from The Glam and Glitter. This girl knows a thing or two about fashion week as she has been attending it every season in EVERY capital for a long time. I literally don’t know how she does it! Her bold fashion sense is street style photographers fave and I’m slightly envious of how perfect her hair always is
1 Describer your fashion week style
Its very colourful, trendy with a touch of comfort. I wear heels often, but I pick my favourite and most comfortable ones. Its same as my usual style, just a little bit dressier.
2 What was your first LFW experience and like?
LFW was difficult at the beginning. I just couldn’t get used to its quirkiness, specially as it comes right after NYFW which always fascinates me. Now I learned what London is about and it’s quickly becoming my favourite!
3 Weirdest thing overheard/ seen at fashion week?
The amount of weirdness you get to see during the fashion week makes it all very normal. Its all part of the bigger scheme and true art form of fashion. However I do find it awkward when I hear people talk about how desperate they are to get a street style photo, or when they talk about seating arrangement. I just think there is just so much more to the fashion week then ego.
4 What has been your LFW SS17 highlight?
This season it was making it on time to Peter Pilotto show and really loved every second of it. I also loved Versus show as I got to wear the hottest outfit I wore in years. Sometimes its also simple things like catching up with my friends and just being happy in this city.
5 Any trends that are on your radar?
I am loving all the military jackets, the velvet and of course dark lips as a beauty trend.
6 What are your 3 essential items to survive the busy fashion week schedule?
External battery charger, bottle of water and my Creme De Rose by Dior lip balm.
7 Who are your style inspirations?
Currently I am seeking inspiration in art. Modern art and also in literature. I would love to find a new style inspiration – an icon, as I have already got a little bit bored of all the usual ones.
8 Name 3 things that are currently on your shopping wish list.
Louis Vuitton petite malle, Fendi backpack and Christian Dior flats
9 Anything that we might not know about you?
I am a huge dreamer which helps in fashion, as I get inspired at the most random times.
10 What is your motto?
Oh I have so many “Everything happens for a reason”, “Work hard, stay humble”and also “If not now, when?”
