Modern romance

Who knew that Gossip-girl style period drama would be the most-watched series on Netflix, EVER. That’s right, 82 million households tuned in to watch Bridgerton within the first month making it officially the “diamond” of our TV screens.

Now officially renewed for season 2, the adaption of a series of romantic novels has gripped the world with it’s “will they won’t they” storyline between The Duke played by the smouldering Regé-Jean Page and Daphne portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor. As well as the steamy scenes, many were also smitten with the dazzling jewels and the elegant fashion.

While many of us might no be able to pull off Regency style dresses (it’s not the most flattering cut) we can get on board with tulle, embellishment and puff sleeves.

Below, I have put together an edit of some of my favourite Spring-ready dresses that will make you feel like a modern-day Bridgerton. I kept them all wearable and even included some brightly-colour frocks for those who loved Featheringtons bold approach to dressing.

Keep it modern by avoiding fussy hair-dos and heavy jewellery. A heel works great for the evening but nothing is stopping you from pairing these pretty pieces with sandals or sneakers.
