A simple statement
Many will be spending Christmas a little differently this year. We are planning a small festive dinner for three (and two dogs) but that doesn’t mean I’ll be wearing pyjamas all day (tempting, very tempting).
As much as I want to take up the lazy approach, I know for a fact that a touch of sparkle or velvet will get me in a celebratory mood.
One of the simplest solutions is a dress. Personally, I always go for a midi or a maxi length and it has to be in one solid colour. I also love wide-leg trousers that skim the floor and can be styled with a chunky sweater or fluffy cardigan.
If you want to kick back in loungewear, then it’s so easy to switch out the sweatshirt for a sparkly top, or keep it simple and play around with statement jewellery. Otherwise, keep the sweatshirt and introduce a pleated skirt or decorated trousers and stick with a simple T-shirt or cashmere knit on top.
I applaud anyone who is planning to step out in glittering heels but I love velvet slides or satin mules that give you that oomph with minimum effort.
