My first brand collaboration with one of my favourite labels…
As you may have gathered from my blog name I have a particular love for sweatshirts, they are as chic as they are comfortable and in my opinion a firm wardrobe staple. So imagine my excitement when I was contacted and asked to feature this gorgeous piece from Just Cavalli!
This Mirage neoprene sweater from the Fall/Winter 2014 collection is inspired by a painting loved by Roberto Cavalli, and represents a woman of the Renaissance period. It is one of those pieces that has an element of originality that you look for in a fashion sweatshirt, but also the versatility that you can wear it with anything. I went through my wardrobe and paired it with a black peplum hem skirt, a white shirt dress, high heels, bikers boots and distressed jeans with sneakers.
But for the shoot, I chose to wear it with skinny leather burgundy trousers and, paying tribute to Cavalli’s love for leopard print, I added these ankle boots with a bold stud heel. To me a sweatshirt is a modern way of dressing for work or play — you feel comfortable and still look pulled together. What do you think?
