Looking for a gentle way to spruce up your wardrobe? Think pastels…
I love the sugary sweet shades that start coating the shop floors this time of year! From marshmallow yellow, to blush pink and soft lavender, these colours are a perfect antidote to your winter wardrobe and despite their ultra feminine appeal, they are very wearable.
A dusty rose tone is probably my favourite and yes it’s super girly but it’s far from barbie pink making it much more versatile (first look here). There’s something grown up and sophisticated about it especially in a shape of a slick dress like this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs which you can wear with a nude heel and hard clutch bag and voila you have a perfect wedding outfit!
One of the more fun ways to wear these shades is by mixing it up. Go for colour combinations like the dress above (remember one warm tone, one cold and one neutral works best) or wear them against a print for example a red plaid shirt with a pink mini skirt or baby blue top with floral trousers.

For work, give these lady like hues a masculine edge by opting for tailored wide-leg trousers from Topshop or Urban Outfitters and styling them with a crisp white shirt and killer heels. Or, keep the bottoms neutral (soft grey is my fave!) and throw on sherbet blazer with a simple tee underneath. For a more casual option you can’t go wrong with a boho blouse with jeans or a denim skirt and block heel sandals.
Finally, toughen up this trend by wearing a biker in a delicate hue with a pair of distressed jeans and sneakers.
Keep it sweet but with attitude! xxx
