Hey everyone, hope your week is going well! It’s been so crazy coming back to work after a week away in Cyprus! I’ve had about 200 emails to deal with as well as the October issue of the mag going to print, but I’m still alive and coping. Thinking of sharing more of my work life with you guys as Harpers Bazaar is an amazing publication but I don’t know, would you be interested? Food for thought…

So on to todays trend post! If there is one print that is bold and timeless, it has to be leopard. With it’s long history at major fashion houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli leopard is considered sexy, fun, sophisticated and versatile.

I have to be honest, I was never a huge fan of this animalistic print thinking it old fashioned and stuffy but when I bought this Dolce & Gabbana bag (similar from Givenchy) I was hooked. The trick is to find the right style for you, there are darker bolder shades (even colourful) and then there are more faded patterns. The spots can also be big, tiny or sparse so it’s up to you how much you want to inject into your look.

My mum is a huge advocate for leopard and can happily wear a coat, skirt and boots all in this print! Now that’s a whole new level of bold which requires you to be in a right kinda mood, my approach is to mix it with neutral pieces or contrast designs like stripes or floral. Take for example a similar jacket to the one below and pair with a white or grey dress, or just grab a trusty stripe T-shirt and mix it with a leopard skirt. Accessories are the easiest and a more gentle way into this trend and at the moment I’ve been loving these shoes from Carvela, amazing bag form Valentino and super cool sunnies from Dolce & Gabbana. For winter I already have a coat from Stella McCartney on my wish list!

  1. I love a hint of animal print – like showing a peek of crazy amongst all the chic. I’ve got a pair of leopard print booties like the ones you have – love the heels on yours! And I adore that Prada navy coat. You have the best wardrobe! Must be great working for HB too 🙂 Would love to hear more about your work on the blog.
