Shades of Grey

Black-and-white maybe be the go to for winter, but I have my eye on the hue that comes between them, here is how I wear the grey trend…

Grey colour is one of my fave’s and can be extremely elegant and soft, but also strong and sporty. Because of this versatility, you can style it pretty easily.

I went for a casual smart look and started with tweed wool trousers which are perfect for winter (similar from shopbop.com and Missguided) and wanted to pair them with a cosy knit. I love this fur-paneled jumper from Topshop as it’s stylish and super comfy (see how else you can wear it here), there are also these ones from Reiss, &Daughter and Theory. I didn’t want to mix it up too much with elaborate accessories or bright outwear and kept it simple with a camel coat and a fedora in the same tone, although I could’ve also worn this fur trim coat. I dressed it down with Adidas Stan Smith trainers but you can add a heel instead for a work outfit.

You most likely already have grey clothes floating around your wardrobe that you can start working with, the important thing is to make it look understated but not boring. I love adding a grey scarf, like these ones from boohoo.com and Gucci, or wearing a simple grey oversized shirt that I leave open at the cuffs (loving Atterley Road and Hoff by Hoff) with faded jeans (check out Dorothy Perkins or All Saints). You can also try a jumpsuit like this J.Crew number which I adore, or a more tailored one from Topshop underneath a grey structured coat, for example Urban Outfitters and French Connection, but throw it over your shoulders like a cape for a touch of cool glamour.

This is a chic shade which should be worn with pride, I mean just look at Olivia Pope’s wardrobe (I knew I’d get a Scandal reference in one day!) so own that grey and let me know how you’d style it in the comments box below…
