This week is our work Christmas party which has got me thinking about the perfect outfit. We have covered the velvet suit, which is still proving to be a popular style, and last week I showed you one of the ways you can bring a baroque touch to your wardrobe, but recently I have been loving the 90’s slip dress.
The elegant fluid shape looks flattering and it can be styled in a number of ways. In the summer months I have been wearing it over a T-shirt and chunky sandals for more of a grunge look, but in the cooler months it will look great over a roll neck and jeans. Here I’m going for an evening look which I actually wore to the Dubai Opera to watch Les Miserables two weeks ago (it’s amazing by the way!). A floaty blouse adds some softness to the dress while the stud heels pick up on the edgy metallic hoops. Ellery is knows for strong pieces and this dress is one of those statement styles that really stands out. Despite the heavier structured fabric, when the party is over I can easily wear it with some sneakers and a cashmere knit, after all who wants a festive dress that you can only wear once a year!
Next week I’ll be sharing a post Christmas outfit idea that will be a comfy combination of festive and chilled. Meanwhile make sure to catch up on all the previous gift guides before you get to shop my one this Friday. Eek, only 13 sleeps till Santa is here!
Awsome outfit! I love the blouse :-*
