Another goody from my mama’s wardrobe…
One of the most wonderful things about my mum, besides her kindness, overwhelming abundance love and support, is her wardrobe. She has some of the most beautiful clothes, shoes, bags and accessories that any fashionista would envy. Although we’re a different size, there are a lot of pieces she lets me borrow/ keep, like this long Prada shearling coat (similar from Jaeger and Toast or an alternative silhouette from Warehouse at Asos.)
She bought it about 10 years ago and its one of those stunning pieces that stands the test of time. There’s something very Russian about it with its mink trim and embroidered detail and I just adore the colour. It’s meant to have a fitted style but on me its slightly oversized which I actually really like and the hood is perfect defence against the cold without completely flattening the hair. I also love it for sentimental reasons, wearing clothes that belonged to your mum or grandma is better than any odd vintage and I will definitely keep some of the clothes for my daughter.
Such a coat is a statement enough so wear with a neutral cashmere jumper, I love options from Uniqlo and Zara‘s premium range, skinny jeans which you can get pretty much anywhere but I like Topshop best although these ones from Next look pretty good too. Add a pair of high heel boots (alternatively sneakers would be a good contrast) and a structured bag preferably in the similar colour as the coat.
