Tis the season to be jolly which means – Christmas parties! Be it with a close group of friends or the annual office blow out, we have a tendency to grab the glitteriest dress we can find, but this season there are so many alternative options like a velvet suit or a slip dress that look fresh and festive.
One way to tap into the party spirit is through texture like embellishment i.e this Iris & Ink top. It adds a nice touch of sparkle and layers elegantly over a crisp shirt, which you can also inject some vavavoom to with frills. I’m a fan of making daywear work for evening and will be keeping it simple with a skinny pair of jeans that have a comfortable fit and elongate my legs (check out my post on must-have jeans here). However, if you have a phobia of being underdressed then style with high-shine fabric trousers or leather pants.
Heels are my party go-to (though I have been known to sport sparkly trainers) and I bought these sandals on theOutnet.com sale. They are higher than what I usually go for but laces provide great support, and you can’t go wrong with black! Next step to being party ready is accessories like statement earrings, the kind that give your earlobes a workout, or a wow clutch bag. I have been a huge fan of marble clutches form the likes of Edie Parker and Nathalie Trad as well as L’Afhsar.
