First birthday in Dubai!
Hello beauties and happy Friday! I’m just recovering from a birthday hangover but I had the most brilliant day! We started off with a breakfast at The Farm in Al Barari which is set in a green oasis. The restaurant serves a selection of organic healthy dishes mixed with some indulgent yamminess like the coconut pancakes which were my favourites. We shot this look in the surrounding gardens and I wore the Saloni matching top and skirt (available at Etoile boutique) with this awesome Anya Hindmarch bag (also love this style). Anya is one of my favourite UK brands and I really liked the laser cut Slow Down slogan, I think sometimes we do need to just chill out and enjoy the moment.
And speaking of chilling, for the afternoon celebrations Kip organised a private meet and greet with the Penguins at Ski Dubai! Now for those who don’t know, I’m a bit obsessed with them (Kip even bought me a penguin onesie!) and we got to stroke and hug and feed these little guys which was just a fantastic experience. They are incredibly intelligent, gentle and fascinating creatures and if you’re ever in Dubai you should definitely add this to your to do list as there aren’t many places where you can actually be so close to a penguin.
For dinner we headed to Buddha Bar in the Marina. Recently refurbished, the two floor extravagant setting was a perfect spot for a birthday meal. The vast dining room with ceiling to floor windows is home to the giant gold Buddha while the back room holds a chefs table where you can watch the masters at work. The upstairs had the biggest change with the bar placed in the center and the private booths for hire spread around it.
We tried the famous Buddha Bar chicken salad followed by crispy wasabi prawns and Wagyu beef from the Robata grill. The highlights for me were the chefs sushi selection of 20 nigiri and maki rolls and the incredible chocolate fondant for dessert. We were also treated to some great cocktails with the gin based passion fruit mix being the winner for me, hence the hangover!
It was a wonderful day and I’m so grateful to all your good wishes, definitely makes getting old that little bit better! Xx
