From beach to city, how travelling with a baby has changed…
Welcome back to the blog! Sorry I’ve been MIA, we were away visiting my family in Moscow and wanted to switch off as much as possible.
After our first trip with Lola, I was naturally worried that the second time round it wouldn’t go as smooth. Firstly this was a city break, not a resort where you have everything you need in one place and hotel can pretty much provide the essentials.
One thing we really wanted to get was the Babyzen Yo Yo stroller. It fits in an overhead cabin, has plenty of storage and comes with a rain cover. It was fussy to put together and it doesn’t feel as solid as a Joolz over bumpy roads, but it’s compact and functional to go from place to place, and we didn’t use our baby carrier at all. We bought ours on Mumzworld and if you fancy the same, make sure to use Diana10 for a little discount.
Staying at our parents flat made things easier as they could get a baby chair and LullaGo Zip travel cot from Chicco, but sterilizing happened the old fashioned way in a boiling pot of water and we also showered with Lola rather than using a baby bath.
We did take our car seat, but there are companies you can hire from and as for food, most super markets stocked her formula and baby food (though we did take some with us just in case!)
The best thing about a city break is that you get a chance to explore and expose the little one to so much. Just make sure the baby bag is packed with all the essentials and plan ahead so you know where you can feed and change. Also, pack spare clothes yourself as baby sick in a middle of restaurant is not a great look.
Travelling with her so far has been a dream! I know this will change once she finds her feet, so if I were you, I’d take advantage of the first year.
