Few weeks to go!
The other day I woke up and suddenly there’s a big bump staring up at me. We only have few weeks to get ourselves ready for the new arrival and nerves are kicking in. We had our 32-week scan and everything is looking great, though she kept hiding her face when they tried to take a 3D picture – must be the camera shyness she gets from Kip.
I imagine it’s natural to have a level of anxiety for the unknown, but it’s finding a way to deal with it. One of the key things is knowledge so I finally got a baby book at the recommendation of a friend called Baby Secrets and it provides a list of what you need for various situations with a focus on developing good habits.
Apart from expected level of fear, it’s been pretty smooth sailing though I have been more out of breath and achy in the legs and hips, which is expected. I’ve also had a couple of nasty cases of acid reflux due to having less room with the little one pushing on everything making digesting food a bit of a struggle. Solution? Reduce fatty foods, any acidic fruit and veg like tomatoes, less caffeine and chocolate (so my evening cup of tea with Digestives are off the menu) and eating smaller meals more often.
I am so excited for my baby shower this weekend with a small group of friends. We’re keeping it casual and having it over at our house with lots of pink balloons and snacks so make sure to watch my Instastories! I’ll also be filming it for my YouTube channel as well as doing a cute video of the nursery reveal and all the goodies we’ve got for the baby so far.
If you’ve made it to the end of this essay, I wanted to say a massive thank you for all the support on here and social media. I am so nervous about being a mum but having this space to voice my worries has been an incredible support platform and I can’t wait to share more of my journey into motherhood x
